Christmas is our favourite time of year, especially as we get to see so many of our families for their annual portrait session.
Professional photography always makes a great gift because a beautiful image reminds us of good times and the people we love. Grandmothers would much rather have framed images than bath salts or a new pair of socks.
This newly built beach house is located at Agia Marina, a village about 8km west of Chania.
Touching the sandy beach, 20m from the sea is the private front yard of the house. Relaxing on the front yard near the mulberry tree, one can gaze at the Thodorou island not far away from the coast.
The house can comfortably accommodate a family or a group of people in it’s two separate bedrooms, a bathroom, an extra WC and a cozy living room.
The renovated Kourkoulios Villa has retained many of the characteristics of the old house; the thick walls keep the heat out of the house, the kitchen has replaced the old oven and the master bedroom is exactly like the old one. The house was decorated by the owners with great care. Actually, most of the ornaments of the house are made by the owners, who used materials from the old house, enhancing the traditional style of the house.
At the ground floor of the villa there are the living room, the dining area, the kitchen and a wc. The first floor consists of the master bedroom, a bedroom with a double bed and a sofa bed and a bathroom. A balcony offers a beautiful panoramic view over the country. There is an independent studio attached to the main house – the old stable. It consists of two single beds, a kitchen equipped with the main equipment and a bathroom.
Kourkoulios Villa is a traditional villa located in the hamlet of Hambatha, in the beautiful Apokoronas Province. The seaside resort of Georgioupolis is just 6km away from the villa. Hambatha is a small village, situated in the foothills of the mountains, without amenities; At Maza village, 800m from the villa there is a traditional tavern where you can taste homemade Cretan dishes. Vrises village, where you can find everything you may need, is about 3km away from the villa.
The villa is built on the slope of a mountain, offering a panoramic view of the green landscape. The trim garden is plenty of colorful flowers and herbs. The private pool and the area around it are perfect places for relaxation, enjoying the hot sun and the tranquility of the area. Next to the barbecue there is a romantic covered area with a wooden outdoor dining set. Scattered around the garden there are pieces of the old house; the loom, the wooden entrance door, wooden shutters, are cleverly used to meet current needs.
